Man Charged After Fatal Accident
A Crown Point, Indiana man was killed on Saturday when his vehicle was struck by a drunk driver.
On November 10th Philip Briner, 21, was heading south on the Dan Ryan Expressway after getting off work as a server from The Pennisula Chicago Hotel. Around 1:30 a.m., Tyrone Allen Stokes was driving his 2002 GMC on the Dan Ryan near 95th Street when he suddenly went from the far right lane to the far left. Chicago resident Stokes, 42, crashed his SUV into Briner’s pick up truck.
Briner was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn and was pronounced dead at approximately 2:05 a.m. Stokes was arrested, charged with aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol. His blood alcohol level was .106 which is higher than the legal limit of .08.
