Child seriously hurt in vehicular accident caused by father
Eight-year-old Kazlynn Thompson remains alive today only because she has the help of a life support system. She is still in the hospital three weeks after getting seriously injured during a vehicular accident investigators suspect was caused by her father, who was driving drunk at the time of the incident.
Kazlynn’s mother has supervised visits with her daughter’s doctor at the hospital because she made a comment while leaving the court room that made a social worker worried the mother would try to take her daughter off the life support system on her own. Kazlynn, who suffered a “severe closed head trauma,” was hurt during a vehicular accident in Miller Park in Omaha, Nebraska on Oct. 24, 2016. Kazlynn’s father, Benjamin Thompson, ran a red light at 30th Street while heading east on Sorensen in a 2013 Nissan Altima and caused a collision with a 1997 Oldsmobile LSS sedan.
