DUI Charge Filed Against New Lenox Man in August Fatal Crash
Last week, a New Lenox man was charged with a DUI after causing an accident that killed the passenger in his car.
On August 25th, Kevin Krohn was driving his 2002 Dodge on Steger Road, heading westward. Around 3:44 a.m., the 22-year-old man lost control of his vehicle and struck a tree at the intersection of Steger Road and 104th Avenue, causing the car to burst into flames.
Krohn had compound fractures to both of his legs and was hospitalized. His passenger, Jake M. Stevens, was pronounced dead at the scene. But the Manhattan resident was only able to be identified by dental records.
On Thursday, September 6th, Krohn was booked into Will County Jail with a charge of aggravated driving under the influence. His bond was set at $75,000.
