A two-car crash Sunday morning in Bourbonnais resulted in five people being sent to the hospital, one with serious injuries.
The police report on the accident stated that a 25-year-old woman was traveling southbound on U.S. Route 45/52 when she accidentally swerved into the northbound lane of the roadway for unknown reasons and collided with another vehicle.
The 28-year-old driver of the second vehicle, along with her three passengers, were taken to the Provena St. Mary’s Hospital to be treated for minor injuries. The 25-year-old driver of the first car was transported to Riverside Medical Center to be treated for what are considered serious injuries. An update on the condition of the injured victims has not been given.
