A two-vehicle crash on Manteno’s west side resulted in four people be ing injured and three of the injuries were very serious.
According to police, the 25-year-old driver of one of the cars was traveling eastbound on the highway at a high speed when he rear ended a truck. This collision caused the second truck to be knocked onto its side and it slid down the roadway.
Highway 9 was closed for nearly three hours as crews worked to rescue those involved and clear the scene. The current condition of the victims is unknown at this time.
