An accident between a truck that was hauling a trailer and another vehicle that was towing a U.S. Postal Service vehicle caused both lanes of traffic to back up on Illinois 50.
The accident occurred Tuesday at approximately 9:30 a.m. when the two vehicles collided and caused the USPS vehicle to break free and crash into a utility pole. Eastbound and westbound traffic from North Street were diverted while crews cleared the scene. No serious injuries were reported in the crash.
