Three Killed and Two Injured in Crash

A tragic crash occurred in the early morning hours on Tuesday, October 16th leading to the death of three passengers. A Chevrolet Monte Carlo was southbound on Road 447 and failed to stop at a stop sign causing it to drive into the path of an oncoming Buick Enclave on U.S. 30 east of Overton. According to a news release from the Nebraska State Patrol the accident occurred around 2 am and investigators believe alcohol was a factor in the crash. The front passengers of the Monte Carlo were wearing seat belts but the back seat passengers were not.

Police announced that the three passengers who died at the scene were Donald Anderson, 20, of Overton; Karli Michael, 27, of Pontiac, Illinois; and Ziera Nickerson, 18, of Kearney. The driver of the Monte Carlo, Angelique Kampmann, 20, of Elm Creek, and another passenger, Ashley Kemp, 18, of Kearney, were both transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. The driver of the Buick Enclave, Kasey Rayburn, 37, of Elm Creek, who was wearing a seatbelt, was examined on the scene and not transported to a hospital.
