The Lincoln Park neighborhood in Chicago was the scene of an accident when an SUV ran a red light on Sunday, June 17.
The driver of a Hyundai Santa Fe was eastbound on Fullerton Avenue near Southport Avenue in the Lincoln Park Neighborhood. The Santa Fe ran the red light and crashed into a northbound MAC garbage truck. This action made the driver of the truck lose control of the vehicle.
The garbage truck then swerved to the sidewalk and hit several cars, two trees and several sign posts. No one was hurt in the accident but nine cars received varying degrees of damage. The driver of the SUV was cited for driving too fast for wet conditions and disobeying a red light signal.
