Spacemaker Coffee Pot Recalled For Breaking Handle
Applica Consumer Products is voluntarily recalling the Black & Decker Spacemaker 12-cup Under-the-Cabinet coffee maker because of the coffee-pot handle can break during normal usage and possibly cause injury to the consumer.
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, 68 people have complained of suffering burns and cuts from the coffee pot as its handle broke. Another 1,300 consumers reported the coffee-pot handle breaking as they were using the product
The recall includes nine models that were sold from July 2008 till May of this year. Sold in black or white, the handles are the came color as the coffee maker with a silver bracket around the bottom of the coffee pot. Consumers are advised to stop using the product and if they call Applica it is possible to receive a replacement.
