One man was killed after a semi-trailer accident occurred on Interstate 80 Thursday afternoon.
According to police officials, a 41-year-old North Carolina man was traveling in a 2009 box truck and rear-ended a Kia Soul. The freightliner box truck then jackknifed across the roadway as a result of the collision and struck the back of another freightliner as a result.
The driver of the first box truck was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene by emergency crews. Police are continuing to determine the cause of the accident at this time.
