A multiple alarm fire ,that involved two buildings, left one firefighter dead after battling the blaze.
Firefighters came from multiple communities to help put out the massive fire that occurred in the town square of Pinckneyville, Illinois. Both an antique mall and and an opera house were consumed by the flames.
The man has now been identified as the 22-year-old son of the Duquoin Fire Chief. The fire started in the antique mall quickly spread to the opera house. Officials have not yet determined what caused the fire at this time.
Burn injuries can be very serious and even fatal at times. Our deepest condolences are with the friends and family of the victim at this time.
