Fire in Bourbonnais causes an estimated $250,000 in damages
A house in Bourbonnais suffered extensive damage from fire, smoke and water on November 24, 2010. It w as a fire that would see eight area fire departments assist in putting out the blaze.
Bourbonnais firemen were the first to arrive at the home at 625 Lewis Street as flames were reaching out to the second floor of the home. The home’s three car garage door was open; the space was filled with heavy flames.
While no injuries were reported, the house suffered damages estimated at $250,000. The cause of the fire was still under investigation. Fire departments from Bourbonnais, Manteno, Limestone, Kankakee, Kankakee Township, Momence, Aroma Park and Wilmington assisted with putting out the fire. Ambulances from Provena St. Mary and Riverside also assisted at the scene.
