Family of Hit-And-Run Accident Victim Files Suit Against Driver
A lawsuit has been filed by the family of a Park Ridge man who was killed by a hit-and-run driver in November 2012.
Ronald Bougan, 53, was walking on the south side of Touhy Avenue near the entrance of Axehead Lake Forest Preserve on November 5th. The lawsuit charges that Kristian Hernandez, 36, was failing to keep a proper lookout, changing lanes and speeding when he hit the Park Ridge man. Nor did Hernandez assist the man after hitting Bougan with his black Dodge Challenger. Bougan was discovered by a bicyclist.
Cook County officers canvassed area body shops and discovered Hernandez brought in a a car suspected to involved in the accident. Police arrested Hernandez who was working as an EMT for a private ambulance company in Skokie at the time.
The lawsuit, filed on December 11, 2012, seeks an award in excess of $50,000.
