Essex woman sustains minor injuries in crash
Police report that last Friday, April 16, an Essex woman sustained minor injuries in a collision at Kankakee and Rice roads around 6:25 p.m.
A 39-year-old woman was driving southbound on Kankakee Road and stopped at the intersection with Rice Road. According to her, the sun was extremely bright and she was unable to see the 59-year-old Essex driver oncoming eastbound on Rice Road.
The 59-year-old Essex driver was taken to Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center. The 39-year-old woman was ticketed with failure to yield.
