Child star Miranda Cosgrove pursues damages for loss of career
Twenty-one-year-old Hollywood actress and singer-songwriter Miranda Taylor Cosgrove recently filed a $2.5 million personal injury lawsuit together with her mother against the drivers involved in her car accident on Aug. 11, 2011 on Interstate 70 near Vandalia, Illinois, CrossMap reported on October 31.
According to Cosgrove’s paperwork, the actress claimed the accident contributed to the destruction of her professional career, as it left her “disfigured and disabled,” news website Inquisitr reported. According to Canada Journal, Cosgrove’s list of lost earnings included 25 booked tours costing $400,000; cancelled future tours costing $560,000; a $400,000 Neutrogena contract; plus a medical bill of $184,490.16.
The tour bus driver, on the other hand, said Cosgrove was misleading people with her claims of lost contracts, and that the amount of her medical bills was also exaggerated. Cosgrove and her mother are seeking $50,000 in damages for each of them.
