Car crash in Onarga severely injures teen driver
Last week in Iroquois County, an 18-year-old Onarga teenager was left with severe injuries after she lost control of her vehicle last week.
The female driver was traveling at accelerated speeds on 1400N Road when she sped through a stop sign, and slid into a ditch. Her car turned over several times, causing her to become airborne. She suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to a hospital in Urbana to be treated.
She now faces several charges against her, including driving an uninsured vehicle, disobeying a stop sign, and speeding. The official police report was released on Thursday regarding her accident, and the excessive speed was listed as the main reason why the teen ended up in the ditch.
