Bus rollover accident results in only minor injuries
A Peotone bus for special needs students from School District 207-U was involved in a crash yesterday when a pickup truck flew through a stop light and struck the bus on its side. The force of impact resulted in the bus rolling over and eventually, resuming an upright position. Fortunately, there was only one student on the bus at the time of the accident, along with the bus driver. Both were taken to the hospital to be examined, but they were released soon after without any serious injuries. The driver and student were on their way to a program outside of the school district when the accident took place.
Three other individuals involved in the crash, a 43-year-old man and two teenage boys, were taken to Riverside Medical Center in order to receive treatment for non-serious injuries.
Thankfully, no one was seriously injured in this accident, but in far too many instances, careless and reckless drivers cause other motorists on the road to suffer devastating injuries through no fault of their own.
