Air Quality at Grade School in Question.
A kindergarten class room has remained closed this school year at Limestone Grade School. This along with the absence of kindergarten teacher Sherri Gustine has concerned parents who brought their worries about air quality to a recent Herscher Community Unit School District 2 Board of Education meeting.
Mold contaminating the air quality is what parents brought up at the meeting as their main worry. However, the board said little about the matter as Gustine has an open workman’s compensation claim at this time. Superintendent Ruth Schneider did state tests done in the school that a district contractor completed over the summer showed there is no threat from air pollution.
The classroom that is closed was going to be cleaned over winter break. That time frame is going to be sped up according to Schneider due to parental concern.
