Accident on Route 50 Takes the Life of New Lenox Girl

Route 50 was the scene of a two-car accident that took the life of a child and sent her other family members to the hospital.

Ken Little, of New Lenox, and his two daughters, Katie and Karly, were returning home after visiting his mother in a Kankakee County nursing home. At about 10:19 a.m., Little pulled his Hyundai into the intersection of 6000 North Road and Route 50, heading eastbound. That is when a GMC SUV crashed into the car on the driver’s side.

Nine-year-old Karly Little was taken to Provena St. Mary’s Hospital where she was pronounced dead. Eleven-year-old Katie Little was taken to Riverside along with her father. Katie was listed in stable condition after hitting her head in the crash. Ken Little, 53, was listed in serious condition. The  driver  in the GMC, a 22-year-old Kankakee resident, was taken to the hospital along with his one-year-old passenger.
