Accident on Cermak Road Leaves One Dead, Two Injured
An accident on Cermak Road has left a Brookfield man dead and two others injured on Wednesday morning.
Eric Hutt, of LaGrange Park, was driving a Ford Mustang on eastbound Cermak Road in Westchester on October 17th. Kyle Tosh, of Brookfield, was a passenger in the car sitting in the front. But as they were driving, a westbound GMC Arcadia pulled into the intersection to make a left turn onto I-294 around 7:05 a.m.
Skid marks on the road indicated that the Mustang tried to avoid the Arcadia but T-boned the truck instead. Tosh, 20, was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood where he died around 7:40 a.m. Hutt, 23, was also taken to Loyola for non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the Arcadia, Forest Park resident Barbara Hasil , 69, was taken to Adventist Hinsdale Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
While the accident remains under investigation, Hasil was cited for failure to yield while making a left turn.
