Three-Vehicle Accident Takes the Life of One Man
An accident on Route 126 near Plainfield has left one man dead and sent another driver to the hospital.
Robert James, of Yorkville, was driving his 2007 Mercury in the eastbound lane of Rt. 126 on September 10th. Just before 6:00 a.m., the 63-year-old James lost control of his car and went into the westbound lane, hitting a box truck. Attempting to avoid James’ car, the box truck was thrown off course and hit a Kia that was in the eastbound lane.
James was extricated from his vehicle and sent to Rush-Copely Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the Kia was taken to Provena St. Joseph Hospital after complaining of pain. The driver of the box truck and his passenger refused treatment at the accident site.
Police are investigating the accident and why James went into the westbound lane.
