Icy conditions lead to a head-on collision in Iroquois County last Friday.
Martinton resident Joshua Mitton was driving on County Road 2200 East just north of Watseka in Middleport Township when his pickup truck began to skid on the ice-covered road. Around 9:30 a.m., Mitton went into the other lane and crashed head-on into a mini-van driven by Rodney Bohlmann, of Watseka.
The 63-year-old Bohlmann required extensive extrication to be removed from his vehicle, according to reports. Bohlmann and his wife were taken to Iroquois Memorial Hospital along with Mitton, 33, and his three juvenile passengers. Both vehicles sustained over $1,500 in damages.
