Pedestrian killed after being struck on rural road
On Saturday, November 1st, in Forreston, Illinois, a bow hunter was fatally injured after being struck by a combine harvester along a rural road in northwestern Illinois. The man, 65-year-old David Olzeski, was struck in the head at 6:30 p.m. by the farming equipment. Olzeski, a suburban Chicago real estate agent, was wearing camouflage when he was walking with the flow of traffic and was struck from behind.
The Ogle County Sheriff’s Department reported that Olzeski was taken to Rockford Memorial Hospital after the accident, where he was pronounced dead at 8:30 pm. Sheriff Michael Harn also reported that the combine driver has not been charged.
