Motorcycle Accident Leaves Two Dead in Collinsville

Two people died when their motorcycle hit a utility pole in southwestern Illinois according to authorities. The accident took place at 3:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 31, 2011. 

Collinsville resident Brandon King, 25, was traveling west bound on St. Louis Road in Collinsville when he lost control of the 2007 Harley Davidson  motorcycle and hit a utility pole. King and his passenger, Kimura Halbrook, were thrown from the bike, and pronounced dead at the scene.

Neither King nor Granite City resident Holbrook, 21, were wearing helmets. The coroner’s office stated that routine tests will be conducted for possible drug and alcohol use on both victims.
