Hit-And-Run Driver Sends Bicyclist to Hospital
A bicyclist was sent to the hospital after being hit by an unknown driver in a southside neighborhood of Chicago.
The accident took place on Sunday, August 26 in the Woodlawn neighborhood. A 23-year-old man was riding his bicycle westward on the 600 Block of East Marquette Road. Around 11:15 a.m., a 2000 Dodge Intrepid hit the bicyclist from behind. The bicyclist was thrown on the hood of the car and shattered the driver’s side window. Instead of stopping, the driver of the Intrepid drove away.
The young man took on serious injuries and was sent to John H. Stoger Jr. Hospital. A witness followed the car but found the Intrepid empty. The police are searching for the driver.
The driver may have disappeared but the injuries suffered by the victim of a hit-and-run driver do not.
