Just because there are no cars around in the immediate area, does not mean you will not be affected when a car accident occurs. Tammy Walsh, a cheerleading coach at St. Joseph-Ogden High School, died Saturday when a utility pole at a football field fell on her.

The accident occurred in Jamaica and was a chain reaction from a driver hitting a guy-wire attached to another pole in a parking lot. The guy-wire is tension cable used as a brace to hold up a pole. Once that guy-wire was hit, the utility pole fell after a chain reaction. Walsh’s teenage son and father-in-law were also injured in the accident but are in fair condition and treated for less serious injuries, respectively.

If you or a loved one has been injured in an accident call Spiros Law to discuss your legal options at 815-929-9292.
