Delivery man sues owner of dog that attacked him
A delivery man in Madison County, Illinois sued an Edwardsville resident, claiming that the man’s dog tried to attack him while delivering mail and other packages in the area. He also stated that he was hurt while he was trying to defend himself from the animal attack.
Sandy Springs, Georgia-based United Parcel Service of America, Inc. (UPS) employee Steve Campbell filed the lawsuit against Kevin Autenrieb on Wednesday, November 13 in Madison County Circuit Court. According to the court complaint, Campbell was delivering a package to Autenrieb’s house in July 2012 when Autenrieb’s dog attacked him, causing him to hurt his back while defending himself.
Campbell is seeking $50,000 in damages for lost wages, court expenses, and most importantly, medical fees.
