Posted on April 20th, 2012 No Comments

A study has recently been done about the number of fatal car accidents that occur on Tax Day each year. The study showed that the number of car accidents that occur on this day each year is at least 6 percent higher than any other day in April.

According to the study, researchers analyzed the number of fatal car accidents that have occurred on Tax Days for the past 3o years. The number is now at 6,783 and this averages to nearly 226 accidents on each Tax Day.

When researchers looked at the number of accidents on another day during the month of April, it was found that 213 fatal accidents occurred. Researchers do not have exact evidence on why there are more accidents on this day than any other, but it they think that this could be because the drivers are under more stress and human error may occur more because of this. They also think that driver may be racing to the get the post office in order to mail their taxes before the deadline.
