A Calumet resident died in a motorcycle crash on Monday August 29, 2011. The accident occurred in the western portion of Kankakee County as a school bus was dropping off children after school.
Anthony Perry, 54, was driving eastbound on Illinois Route 17 near 8000 W. Road when he attempted to stop his vehicle. The motorcycle hit the back of a 2006 Honda Civic, sending Perry and his passenger, Karen Skripac, 52, off of the bike. The civic, driven by Alexis M. Thompson, then hit another car driven by Shirley Haley of Streator.
The two cars were stopped behind a school bus making a drop-off stop.
Two victims were taken the hospital. Perry died as a result of the accident while Skripac was treated for non-life threatening injuries at Riverside Hospital. The civic had significant damage at the back end of the vehicle. The accident remains under investigation at this time.

Two people died when their motorcycle hit a utility pole in southwestern Illinois according to authorities. The accident took place at 3:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 31, 2011.
Collinsville resident Brandon King, 25, was traveling west bound on St. Louis Road in Collinsville when he lost control of the 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle and hit a utility pole.
King and his passenger, Kimura Halbrook, were thrown from the bike, and pronounced dead at the scene.
Neither King nor Granite City resident Holbrook, 21, were wearing helmets. The coroner’s office stated that routine tests will be conducted for possible drug and alcohol use on both victims.

An 18-year-old is currently recovering at Riverside Medical Center after a motorcycle and car accident that occurred Tuesday.
According to officials, the accident occurred on Illinois Route 1 when the man was operating the motorcycle and collided with another vehicle at the intersection 3000S Road.
The motorcyclist was traveling southbound down the roadway when he collided with the other vehicle that was attempting a left turn. The two passengers in the other vehicle were also taken to the hospital to be treated. The motorcyclist is currently in critical condition at this time.

A 33-year-old Momence man was killed in a motorcycle accident on North Schuyler Ave. in Kankakee.
Details of what caused the accident are still not available at this time, but it is known that the man was pronounced dead a the scene.
The man’s autopsy the following day revealed that the man suffered from multiple injuries as a result of the accident. The funeral for the amn was held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Grant Park.

The injured man is from Cabery and the man who was killed in from Chicago.
The 64-year-old Cabery man was taken to the hospital in Kankakee after he lost control of his motorcycle for unknown reasons on Illinois Route 115 around 8 p.m. Illinois State Police said alcohol may have been a factor in this accident, but he was not taken into custody due to his condition.
The 68-year-old man from Chicago was taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead from injuries sustained in the motorcycle accident that occurred on Illinois Route 1.
