Illinois State Police are investigating a three-car accident that injured nine people on I-94. The driver of the car that caused the accident is still being searched for by police officials.
The accident occurred around 10 p.m., when a car struck another while heading north down the roadway. The vehicle that was hit then struck another vehicle and swerved into a ditch. The first vehicle fled the scene before anyone could get a good look at it.
Four people, who were riding in the second vehicle, were transported to
the hospital where they were treated and released. One person was in serious condition when taken to the hospital and two more were in fair condition.

A semi-truck accident on I-57 injured two people in Chebanse Township.
The semi-truck struck the rear of a vehicle that was protecting the crew that was working on the road. The semi-truck was hauling compressed hydrogen at the time of the accident. Emergency crews worked to remove the semi-truck in the safest way. The cause of the accident is still being investigated by officials.

Five people from Kankakee and Iroquois counties were involved in a seven-vehicle accident on a southern Illinois highway. Two of the victims were killed after the accident.
Officials said that the two people killed in the accident was a 54-year-old man and a 52-year-old man from Missouri.
The accident is still under investigation, but it is known that the accident involved, four semi-trailers and three cars.
Police said that the vehicles were stopped while waiting in a construction zone when a semi-truck failed to stop and slammed into another vehicle causing a chain reaction wreck.

A man was injured in a car accident after he struck a utility pole on the side of the road.
According to authorities, the 47-year-old man was driving a Ford Taurus on Interstate 80 when he lost control of the vehicle for unknown reasons causing his car to veer off of the side of the road.
He then struck a utility pole, a fence and a light pole before coming to a stop. The collision knocked down power lines causing the Taurus to catch fire. Police were forced to close nearby streets causing traffic to take a detour. The man was cited for driving with a revoked license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

A series of car crashes shut down the southbound lane of Interstate 57 for nearly four hours.
According to Illinois State Police, the first crash occurred around 1 p.m. when a semi-truck hit another truck that was carrying paint.
The paint truck was driving behind the semi and spraying paint on the road in order to re-stripe portions of the road.
Both of the drivers suffered from minor injuries in the accident. After this accident occurred, a van collided with the trailer of the semi that was still in the road. Two people were in the van were transported to the hospital with minor injury.

A man is being hospitalized after being electrocuted when coming too close to an electrical wire outside of a tavern in Kankakee County.
The 25-year-old man was airlifted from a hospital in Kankakee to Loyola Medical Center, but was listed in stable condition. The man was a cook at the tavern when he was helping to put a pole up in front of the tavern.
Once the pole was up, it came close to a utility line and the current traveled to the pole all the way through it until it hit the man.
