A former nursing home assistant has been jailed after being caught stealing medication from patients at a nursing home in Illinois that he was working at. He was charged with aggravated battery to an elderly person.

Two men were seriously injured in a Kankakee car crash around 4:30 a.m. on Thursday.
The accident first came to light when someone called 9-1-1 to report an injured victim wandering in the street. The 25-year-old man was rushed to St. James Hospital in Olympia Fields and then transferred to Advocate Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn. Police found the vehicle at 7 a.m. after a search through the heavy rain. Inside was another victim, a 23-year-old man who appeared to have been driving the vehicle when the accident occurred. This victim, also in serious condition, was rushed to Olympia Fields before also being transferred to Oak Lawn.
The men are both listen in critical condition.
An Evanston man was killed in a Kankakee car accident Saturday. According to police reports, the accident occurred on Interstate Highway 57 in Kankakee County.
The car apparently hit something in the road, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle. The car then swerved and crashed into a concrete median. When medical officials arrived, the man was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Conair Corp. recalled 291,000 hairdryers last week. According to company reports, the hairdryers could break apart while they are in use.
According to a number of reports, when the hairdryers break, they can cause cuts and lacerations.
Customers who bought these hairdryers are asked to stop using them and call Conair to order a replacement.

A two-vehicle accident on Wednesday afternoon sent a 16-year old Cissna Park girl to the hospital for treatment. The accident occurred about two miles north of Cissna Park, and the injured girl was taken to Iroquois Memorial Hospital in Watseka. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash.
