Minier Woman Killed in I-74 Crash

A woman from Tazewell County had died as a result of a three-car accident on Interstate 74 Friday evening in Champaign County.

27-year-old Minier resident Jennifer Kautz was a passenger in a pick-up truck that crossed the center median and struck a westbound semi head-on.

According to information released by Illinois State Police District 10 in Pesotum, 28 year-old Chad Kautz was driving the pick-up truck eastbound on I-74, near Mahomet, shortly before 6:00 p.m when he collided with a semi-truck driven by Terry Eugene Chamberlain. Authorities did not disclose Chamberlain’s age or place of residence.

After crashing into Kautz’s pickup, the semi-truck also struck a vehicle driven by Winella Howard. No information on Howard is available.
